DAYTON – The Wright State women’s soccer program, led by head coach Travis Sobers, released their 2024 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The schedule is highlighted by eight home contests at Alumni Field this fall.
The Raiders will ready with two exhibition matches prior to the start of the regular season, first traveling to Toledo (Aug. 3), then to Miami (OH) (Aug. 8). Wright State will open the regular season in a road contest at Illinois (Aug. 15) and host their home opener on Aug. 22 against Mercyhurst.
After their Thursday home opener, the Raiders will be on the road for three games, returning to host five of their seven September contests at Alumni Field, first competing against Morehead State on Sep. 5 and Valparaiso on Sep. 8. The Raiders will stay close to home for their second September road-match, competing against in-town foe Dayton (Sep. 12). Wright State ends the month with three Horizon League matchups, first against Green Bay (Sep. 19), then Milwaukee (Sep. 22), and lastly against Cleveland State (Sep. 29).
October will have only two home matches, those being against Horizon League opponents IU Indianapolis and Purdue Fort Wayne on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20, respectively. The Raiders will begin the month with three road contests and will end the regular season on the road Oct. 26 and Oct. 30 against Robert Morris and Northern Kentucky.
The Horizon League Championship will start Nov. 3 with the No. 3 and 4 seeds hosting. The tournament will continue Nov. 7 and 9 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
Last fall, Wright State went 6-7-5 overall and advanced to the Horizon League Quarterfinals after tallying a 4-3-3 mark in Horizon League play. Two Raiders received All-League honors, as Lauren Borchert earned All-League Second Team honors, and Kaitlyn Eyink named to the All-Freshman Team.

Toledo (Aug. 3, Toledo, OH; exhibition)
– Toledo finished 7-9-2 last season, ranking ninth in the MAC with a 4-6-1 conference record. This will be the ninth time the two have met, as the Raiders have a 3-4-1 regular season record against Toledo. Their last regular season matchup dates back to 2019, where the Rockets won 4-1.
Miami (Aug. 8, Oxford, OH; exhibition)
– Miami (OH) finished 8-10-1 last season, finishing eighth after going 5-6 in the MAC. This will be the 12th time the two have met, as Wright State has a 5-6-0 regular season record against the RedHawks. Their last regular season matchup was in 2022, where the Raiders came out on top 1-0.
Illinois (Aug. 15, Champaign, IL; season opener)
– Illinois ended the 2023 season with a 6-8-3 record, going 2-6-2 in the Big 10. This will be the two teams’ third matchup, as the Fighting Illina hold a 2-0-0 record over Wright State. Their previous meetings date back to 2010 and 2004.
