Five University of Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey players not only earned spots on the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team, but were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
Graduate forward Reece Hunt, senior defenseman Nina Jobst-Smith, junior forward Jenna Lawry, redshirt sophomore forward Mary Kate O’Brien and senior forward Clara Van Wieren will all advance as CSC Academic All-America finalists one week after being named 2023-24 Krampade Division I All-American Scholars.
Both Hunt and Jobst-Smith were named CSC All-District Women’s At-Large Team members in 2022-23.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. NCAA Women’s At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. (The Men’s At-Large Academic All-America Teams® will be announced on Wednesday, July 17.)
