After revamping the Tulsa women’s golf program over the past six seasons, Annie Young resigned Wednesday as the Golden Hurricane’s coach to pursue other opportunities.
Young’s tenure included back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in the last two years.
“We appreciate Annie’s dedication to the University of Tulsa and our women’s golf program over the past six seasons,” Tulsa’s retiring athletic director Rick Dickson said in a press release. “We thank her for her outstanding leadership of the program and our student-athletes and wish her and her family the best in their future endeavors.”
Young guided Tulsa to nine tournament victories and a 2021 American Athletic Conference championship. She was honored as the American Coach of the Year twice.
Young, a two-time All-America selection in 2003 and ’05 at Oklahoma State, began her coaching career at Oklahoma State from 2008-11. After a brief stint as Cal State Northridge’s head coach, she moved to Colorado State for six years before joining Tulsa.
