SCHEDULE
MOREHEAD, Ky. —
With its top player returning from a successful 2023-24 season and a great mix of additional returning talent and incoming players ready to showcase their skills on the college level, Morehead State women’s golf will face a solid variety of teams and courses this year that should prove familiar and brand
“Our team is excited about this year’s schedule which includes competitions throughout our region and beyond, said Head Coach Stephanie Barker. “We are quite familiar with several of the venues, but also look forward to facing new competitors in places like Sedona, Ariz., and Nashville. The goal with our schedule is to play a variety of courses and conditions while facing the toughest competitors possible. Not only will this year’s schedule complement our student-athlete’s experience and performance, but it will also prepare us for conference and post season play.”
The Eagles have five events slated for the fall and five more in the spring, with the NCAA Regionals a hopeful 11th.
MSU will play in four repeat events in the fall and one new one – albeit at a somewhat familiar course. The Eagles open the fall portion at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in Pawley’s Island, S.C. on Sept. 8-10 before traveling to Missouri for the Johnie Imes Invitational two weeks later. MSU took part in the Imes event last fall, finishing fifth.
The Eagles will then look to repeat as champions of the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis on Sept. 30-Oct. 1. A return trip to Arkansas for the Lady Redwolves (Arkansas State) Classic is set for Oct. 14-15. MSU concludes the fall in Alabama, playing in The Robbie (hosted by Lipscomb) on Oct. 24-26. It’s at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Hampton Cove – site of the 2021 OVC Championship.
The spring begins with a familiar event as well – the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate hosted by UNC Greensboro. It will take place in West Palm Beach, Fla. Feb. 9-11. Then, the Eagles will play in their signature tournament when they travel to Sedona, Ariz., and the Red Rocks Invitational March 14-16.
Another Lipscomb-hosted event is next as MSU will head to Nashville, Tenn., and the Nashville Invitational March 23-25. A second trip to Pawley’s Island, S.C. closes the regular season on March 31-April 2 with the Any Given Tuesday Invitational.
The OVC Championship returns to Muscle Shoals, Ala., this season after being held in Mississippi last spring. The Eagles won the title in 2023 at the RTJ at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course.
