Nyla Milleson, vice president and director of athletics at Drury University, has appointed Faith Hopkins as the new head coach for DU’s women’s golf program.
Hopkins, a native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, played three seasons for Missouri State before transferring from Oklahoma State. She served as an assistant coach for the Evangel University men’s and women’s golf teams last year.
During her senior year at Missouri State, Hopkins was part of the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference championship and NCAA Regional qualifying team. She also had notable achievements during her sophomore and freshman years at Oklahoma State.
As an assistant coach at Evangel, Hopkins contributed to the Valor women’s team’s success in various tournaments and championships.
Milleson stated, “Faith brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team. She has valuable experience from her time at Missouri State and Evangel, and I believe she will connect well with our student-athletes.”
Hopkins, who excelled in high school, earned prestigious awards and titles before pursuing a college career in golf.
Hopkins showcased her academic excellence at Missouri State, earning numerous accolades and graduating with degrees in business administration and marketing eResearch.
Expressing her excitement, Hopkins stated, “I am thrilled to join Drury University and work with the talented team of golfers. I see great potential in our collaboration and look forward to achieving remarkable success together.”
Hopkins’ connection to Drury includes her high school coach, who was a former Drury player, and her cousin, who played softball for the Panthers and now officiates in the NBA.
She will be the fourth head coach in the history of Drury’s women’s golf program. Hopkins takes over from CJ Ball, who resigned after a successful tenure.
Hopkins inherits a team that has displayed competitiveness and earned notable achievements in recent seasons.
