To be eligible for the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and participate in at least 50% of the college’s competitive rounds, including the team’s conference championship.
Kozlowski has become only the fifth three-time WGCA All-American Scholar in Purdue’s program history, joining the ranks of Heather Zielinski, Maria Hernandez, Thea Hoffmeister, and August Kim. Gu and Sugiyama have earned this recognition for the second consecutive season due to their academic excellence and contributions on the golf course.
Kozlowski concluded her collegiate career at the NCAA Championships in May after competing in 41 tournaments over four years. She finished with 11 rounds in the 60s, tied for the fifth-most in school history. Kozlowski’s season included six rounds in the 60s, matching a single-season school record. She finished the year ranked No. 145 nationally, received Second Team All-Big Ten honors, and led Purdue in five events. Kozlowski made 113 birdies, had a 72.92 stroke average, secured four Top 10 finishes, and played a key role in Purdue’s victory at the Mary Fossum Invitational. She also earned Academic All-Big Ten and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors before earning her degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering.
Sugiyama continued to shine both in academics and on the golf course, leading Purdue for a second consecutive season with a team-best 72.45 stroke average, the third-best in school history. She recorded 19 rounds of par-or-better, the third-most in program history, and climbed to No. 126 in the national rankings. Sugiyama garnered Second Team All-Big Ten accolades, achieved five Top 10 finishes, and excelled at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational with a fourth-place finish. She also secured a 10th-place finish at the B1G Championships, the best by a Purdue golfer since 2019. Sugiyama was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and received academic all-conference honors.
Gu, who played in eight of Purdue’s 13 tournaments, showcased her skills with a 76.41 stroke average during the 2023-24 season. She made notable contributions, finishing 37th at The Show and carding a season-best 223 at the Briar’s Creek Invitational. Gu also received Academic All-Big Ten recognition at the end of the season.
